Values to Teach to Your Kids

As a parent, it is your responsibility to teach your children good values at an early age. Many people think that it’s unnecessary to instill values to a toddler, but this is not true. Here are some of the values your kids should develop as early as now:

The best way to encourage your little one to be cautious is to be one. Say please when you’re requesting for something and “po” and “opo” when talking to someone who’s older than you. This way, your kid will realize that it’s the right thing to do when having a conversation with others.

Teach them to say thank you for every gift or special favor they received. Your kids will say these words as a habit if they are used to speaking and hearing them. Thus, it’s also essential for you to say thank you, especially when your kids are around.

Children need to learn on how to be generous as early as now. Teach them to be kind and giving by asking them to donate their old toys and clothes. Explain to them the idea of giving and receiving and what will happen if they will be more generous to others.

Many parents don’t teach their children the idea of self-esteem. You shouldn’t be like them. At an early age, you need to imply to your kids that being confident is essential.

We, Filipinos are known to be polite and well-mannered, so make sure to teach your kids on how to be kind-hearted even at this stage.
